This community is just so wonderful. Thanks to SumOfUs-members from all over the world, beekeepers were able to attend the Bayer shareholder meeting last Friday and give a first-hand account of the bee die-off caused by Bayer’s pesticides.
And the support didn’t stop there. In the run-up to the AGM, Bayer tried to silence us — they even labeled our protest with the beekeepers a “terrorist threat”. With our help, the critical shareholders were able to battle Bayer in court and make sure the protests could go ahead — right outside Bayer’s front door.
Thank you for being a part of our community and standing up to corporate bullies like Bayer. Annette, one of the beekeepers that attended the AGM, wanted me to pass on this message back to you — click the image below to watch:
Our protests didn’t go unnoticed. Media outlets from all over the country picked up pictures of our protest — even German TV and political leaders were interested in what the beekeepers had to say.
We’ve been at the Bayer annual shareholder meeting for a few of years now — but this year was different. This year more beekeepers than ever were raising their voices, the protests were bigger, the movement was stronger.
Bayer is under massive pressure. Its deal with Monsanto is looking more shaky than ever. Its reputation is in tatters. This is all thanks to you!
Thank you for standing up for the bees,
Anne, Wiebke, Christian and the whole team at SumOfUs
