Justice Now: Make It Right For Palestine – National March & Rally
Saturday 4 November – Assemble 12 noon
Grosvenor Square, W1K 6LF (note the change of assembly point), London
Demonstrate this Saturday to mark the centenary of the Balfour Declaration in which Britain laid the basis for the creation of the Israeli state and the subjugation of the Palestinians. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is going to be in London for the centenary, which makes it all the more important that we have a massive turnout.
Stop the War is one of the co-organisers of the march, alongside the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, Palestinian Forum in Britain, Friends of Al Aqsa and the Muslim Association of Britain. Join us! If you are able to volunteer for Stop the War at the demo, please contact us at email@example.com.
Stop the War showing of The Coming War on China
Fundraiser screening and Q&A with John Pilger
28 November | 6 for a 6.30 start – 9pm
107 Kingsland High Street
The Coming War on China is a documentary film by the award-winning journalist and filmmaker John Pilger.
Filmed over two years in the Marshall Islands, Japan, Korea, China and the United States, the film reveals a build-up to war on the doorstep of China. More than 400 US military bases now encircle China in what one strategist calls “a perfect noose”. Bringing together rare archive and interviews with witnesses, Pilger reveals the US’s secret history in the region.
As Trump threatens China with a trade war and worse, this film is both a warning and an inspiring story of resistance.
You can book your ticket here. The film starts at 6.30 sharp.
A chance for change – urgent Stop the War appeal
We’ve launched an appeal on Friday. A big thank you to everyone who has donated already.
Recent revelations that the UK has dropped more than 3,400 bombs and missiles in Iraq and Syria have confirmed how involved Britain has been in the carpet bombing which is estimated to have led to 40,000 civilian deaths in Mosul alone.
We now have a chance to break this cycle of violence and to develop a peaceful foreign policy in Britain. Stop the War is at the forefront of the campaign for change.
We need to intensify our campaigning and we are asking for your generous help. Your donations will enable us to promote the anti-war arguments more widely, support new Stop the War groups springing up around the country, sustain an increased level of staffing and upgrade our communications.
The target for our appeal is £25,000. Please give generously.
The first 10 to donate £100 or above will receive a copy of the book People Power: Fighting For Peace signed by Lindsey German.
£50 pays for an advert reaching thousands of people.
£100 pays for 50 placards.
£300 is enough to book a film screening.
£650 pays for a public rally.
